one more from the first episode. As you pointed out both characters held something beside their faces, looking quite charming in front of the camera… Ned is holding a strawberry, while Amelie eats marshmallow strawberries off her fingers during the intro

During the same scene Alan B mentioned above, Ned reaches out and touches Vivian’s hand to which she squirms and the narrator explains she dislikes being touched; Amelie’s mother shares the same discomfort.
Also, you pointed out that Chuck and Amelie spent their childhood living in seclusion and caring for older, weirder relatives; to be more specific both attempted, in vain, to put a little happiness and wonder into their relative’s dry, unhappy lives.
A death on TV led Amelie to the hidden box of sentimental treasure and a death on TV led Ned to his soulmate… who he found in a box!
Amelie’s narrator says that only the person who discovered tutankhamun’s tomb knew how she felt when she finds the box. Pushing Daisie’s narrator explains that only the charming prince knew how the pie maker felt as he opens Chuck’s coffin….
All these similarities and i haven’t even finished the first episode yet
