Pushing Daisies at the Comic Con 2008

by

The entire cast of Pushing Daisies were in attendance at the Comic Con panel this year — Lee Pace, Anna Friel, Kristin Chenoweth, Chi McBride, Swoozie Kurtz, and Ellen Greene.

Kristin obliged a fan and sang Somewhere Over The Rainbow beautifully:

I am not loving her hairstyle, though….she looks older with it.

BuddyTV’s notes and highlights from the panel:

  • comic-con

Lee Pace to Barry: “You’re adorable…and abusive.”

  • Audience Member: “Bryan will there be more singing this year?” Bryan: “Sinning? Yes.”
  • Barry on Kristen: “She’s like a perfect short person.”
  • Bryan, in response to Daisies being a great date night attraction: “We plan to get you all laid.”
  • The season premiere will be a road map to the entire season, filled with clues that will make sense once the season is over.
  • Lee Pace is a shy kind of guy, but he is genuine. He gushed about how playing an optimistic character like Ned allows him to go home happy.
  • Emerson Cod will discuss how he wants to publish a pop-up book called “My Little Gumshoe” which is basically a map for how his estranged daughter can find him. Emerson Cod’s mother will appear early in the season, and will be played by a Broadway actress.
  • There will be more singing this season, and Kristin will be bringing some of her Broadway friends in. Who, we don’t yet know.

About Pushing Daisies

As its teasers say, Pushing Daisies is "nothing like you've seen on television". Besides being visually stimulating and audibly captivating, the story behind this whimsical TV series from ABC, is one that seems to jump out pages of a fairy tale. Created by Bryan Fuller, Pushing Daisies is hailed by critics as a commendable risk that may actually pay off. It has romance, tragedy, comedy, mystery and of course, lest we forget, pies…lots and lots of it.
