Pushing Daisies: Barry Sonnenfeld Director Nomination, People’s Choice Results
Once again, Pushing Daisies has another reason to celebrate. Barry Sonnenfeld, director of Pie-lette, the show’s very first episode, is nominated for Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Comedy by the Directors Guild Awards. According to press release, this is his first DGA nomination, can you believe that?
Winners will be awarded during the annual dinner, to be held at the Hyatt Century Plaza in Los Angeles on January 26th.

Second nomination, previously cited for the Drama category for his work in The Sopranos.

Pushing Daisies lost to Samantha Who? for the Best New TV Show (Comedy) award. While I also enjoy watching Samantha Who? it’s fair to say that this isn’t one of those awards you take with seriousness. It’s a popularity contest generally.
