Pushing Daisies in the UK: ITV won’t air Episode 2 - Dummy
The good news: The Brits loved Pushing Daisies’ Pilot episode.
The bad news: The channel carrying it will skip Episode 2 (Dummy) and head straight to Episode 3 (Fun in the Funeral).

I was lurking on a UK forum’s discussion on Pushing Daisies to find out what the general consensus is since the show premiered there last Saturday. And majority are loving it, I’m happy to report that! Some have even confessed to watching TV on a Saturday night, for the first time. Pushing Daisies might be pushing them to change their TV viewing habits.
However according to local viewers there, ITV has decided to carry eight episodes only. ITV is the channel which has acquired the program. And a fan of the show has written them about Episode 2 and got this reply:
Thank you for your recent email regarding PUSHING DAISIES.
ITV only had an 8 week slot available and it was decided that this was the best episode to drop as there are no serial elements within it. It may be shown at a later date. There are plans to release a DVD on the 23rd June 2008.

I don’t know how networks run their programs in other countries, but UK viewers are speculating that the 8-episode slot has something to do with allotment of advertising slots.
What will the British be missing out on the second episode? Well… just one of the entire show’s best moments! It’s that beautiful song interlude from Olive, which I know they can get off YouTube (such as this):
But of course, it’s different when you watch everything completely. Dummy is one of the show’s cutest stories but aside from this, characters were also established in this episode. And this is where Chuck and Ned shared their very first “kiss”! On the bright side though, the Brits won’t have to wait long for the complete season 1 DVD release.
And well, if you’re the Brit who will be missing this, we’ve got recaps over here, too.
