Pushing Daisies’ Lee Pace on The View

Well, I seldom get to watch The View that much and I can’t say I like the program. But for the sake of Lee Pace, I sat through this interview and got to know Ned a little bit better.
The View interview began with Barbara Walters telling Lee about the show’s great reviews. She asked whether or not Lee felt the abilities of his character was something he’d actually want in real life and Lee answers by saying he enjoys working with the people behind the show and he lives the moral question in Pushing Daisies. The moral question according to him isn’t about death but is about life, and I quite did not get what he meant by it. (Ha-ha, I got the dumb.)
Whoppi asked about how long his character “can hold out”, since Ned’s never going to able to touch the one he loves and Lee says its not going to happen on the show ever. But since the characters choose to be together and it’s an old fashioned kind of love, he also loves the idea behind it. Lee says: “One of the things I appreciate from Pushing Daisies is that it’s a great fun world to be in.It’s like I can walk home and I can feel good about the job I do because it makes people happy.”
Here is the complete interview on video:
Incidentally, Lee was also briefly on Good Morning America Wednesday last week and mentions that the idea of Pushing Daisies sprung from him…sort of. You can view the clip here.
