Pushing Daisies: More from Bryan Fuller on Season 2
Part Two of the interview with Bryan Fuller with the Comic Podcast Network is now out, with more exciting news and scoops from the series creator of Pushing Daisies (SPOILER ALERT!):
- A duet between Olive and Alfredo — Raul Esperza was doing a show before, so they couldn’t easily get him back to the show. But if they’re starting in June this time, there’s a possibility their schedules would work out. There is a plan for a much more complicated character development for his character, Alfredo, as well as another partner for Olive.
- Regarding Molly Shannon - They wanted to get her for the show “from the get-go”. But she was doing another pilot then. (Molly Shannon is doing another pilot again this year).
- More guests on list. The show has roles in mind for: Carol Burnett, Julie Andrews, and some Dr. Who cast appearance, which will excite UK viewers no less.
- There is a possibility for more musical numbers. “They kinda like the way we’re sort of sprinkling the numbers here and there”. There could be original songs. But they currently have a list of songs they would like to get into the show, like Eternal Flame (by the Bangles).
- Ways for Ned and Chuck to touch? “We haven’t even gotten to latex”
- Bryan Fuller regards Orbit (Digby) as one of the better actors of the show. There is actually a Digby double, but Orbit is female.
- Pie Cookbook? Fuller loves the idea.
- A comic book will be available at ComicCon this year, and there would be some recipes in there.
- On the possibility that the aunts would know if Chuck is alive, the answer is a “Maybe”. Whether the aunts or Olive would know Ned’s powers — “No”. Will the aunts go back to their careers? “Yes.”
- On the possibility of Emerson finding his special someone — “Yes”. Fuller would love to have Bitches guest star, Christine Adams, come back on the show.
