Pushing Daisies Nominated at Golden Satellite Awards
Is it awards season already? Fresh from posting about Pushing Daisies winning Best Family TV show yesterday, I opened my mailbox this morning and read that The Satellite Awards has just released its list of nominees for outstanding achievement in movies, TV and other media. And look who are on the list?
That’s three nominations! Hah! Congratulations to Lee Pace, Anna Friel and the people behind Pushing Daisies. It’s too bad this award giving body isn’t giving an Ensemble Cast Award, because I’m confident the show would definitely make it to that list.
The Satellite Award is a recognition given by the International Press Academy, which was formed in the 90’s. The organization has over 200 members worldwide, in print, radio, television, cable and more recently, the internet. This body is actually a spin-off from HFPA (Hollywood Foreign Press Association) who is responsible for the Golden Globes.
The ceremony this year will be held on December 16. And, of course, I will be keeping tabs on whether or not PD wins anything.

EW has opened a poll for TV buffs and you can easily cast your vote for the Best of TV - 2007. I just did one on Favorite New Show and at the time I made my vote, Pushing Daisies was leading by 46%, against Dirty Sexy Money, Samantha Who, Big Bang Theory and Back To You. To be fair though, the choices were limited and not nearly covering all the new shows we enjoy.
