Pushing Daisies Round Up Dec. 3

by LiRa

Ratings Update: Bitter Sweets managed to reap very good numbers for Pushing Daisies last week, as it delivers 10.18million viewers. The show was aired on a later time-slot since its regular schedule was pre-empted by the Shrek Christmas special. Now, that time shift may have done Pushing Daisies a huge favor because it has retained and carried over a percentage of Shrek’s audience. Below is the ranking for Wed, November 28:

1. “Shrek the Halls” (Special) (ABC) 21.06m
2. “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” (Special) (R) (ABC) 18.74m
3. “Criminal Minds” (CBS) 16.26m
4. “CSI: NY” (CBS) 14.03m
5. “Pushing Daisies” (ABC) 10.18m
6. “Christmas in Rockefeller Center” (NBC) 8.98m
7. “Kid Nation” (CBS) 7.29m
8. “Dirty Sexy Money” (ABC) 7.15m
9. “Kitchen Nightmares” (FOX) 7.03m
10. “Life” (NBC) 6.27m
11. “Bionic Woman” (NBC) 5.99m
12. “Til Death” (8-9) (FOX) 5.99m
13. “America’s Next Top Model” (CW) 5.03m
14. “Gossip Girl” (CW) 2.98m

Pushing Daisies, Best Family TV Show: Also last Wednesday, Pushing Daisies was voted Best New TV Series by the Family Television Awards. The award giving body is organized by the Family Friendly Programming Forum, a brainchild of the Association of National Advertisers. It aims to give honors to prime time shows that gear towards wholesome programming. Chi McBride, Kristine Chenoweth and Lee Pace graced the event and had their red carpet interview. Chi Mcbride says Pushing Daisies is the kind of show that provides something different in the whole TV landscape, where a lot of it isn’t exactly family friendly.

Other winners include:
America Ferrera - Best Actress
Kyle Chandler - Best Actor
Ugly Betty - Best Comedy
Heroes - Best Drama
Zachary Levi - Favorite Newcomer

About Pushing Daisies

As its teasers say, Pushing Daisies is "nothing like you've seen on television". Besides being visually stimulating and audibly captivating, the story behind this whimsical TV series from ABC, is one that seems to jump out pages of a fairy tale. Created by Bryan Fuller, Pushing Daisies is hailed by critics as a commendable risk that may actually pay off. It has romance, tragedy, comedy, mystery and of course, lest we forget, pies…lots and lots of it.
